Church description

In October 2006, Pastor Thomas and Lisa Cook, after pastoring in South Carolina and Mississippi, returned to their hometown of Orlando.

As God began to impress on Pastor Thomas to start a church, he took his guitar, his wife and his children to their apartment complex pool and began to share the love of God.

Just a few weeks later, some close friends shared how God was leading them to offer their home to the Cooks; where they could hold bi-weekly bible studies.

After a few months and with much prayer, Pastor felt led to move out in faith and began to look for a building where they could house the people which had now formed into a small congregation.

Just one week after beginning the search, they found a Spanish ministry who was willing to share their facilities.

On October 7, 2007 The Praise Place opened with a celebration service. Eight months later, on July 7, 2008 the church moved into their own facility located on University Boulevard, right in the heart of East Orlando.

Three and a half years later, after outgrowing that building, they moved into their current location on September 4, 2011.

We are a bible believing, full gospel church with passion for the lost.
