Church description
What makes any church unique - the people! Though people are what make all congregations similar. What I find unique about St. Paul Lutheran in Sheldon, IA - among the Lutheran churches I have experienced, is that they are open to change! They've already hung in there as I push them out of their comfort zone. Other qualities worth mentioning might be the blue-collar make up of much of our membership. That's a generalization, but reflects the majority of people who are farmers, contractors, nurses, plumbers, electricians, welders, machinists, etc…
Strangely, a lot of our members were not raised Lutheran. Several join our congregation as a compromise between other faith traditions: Catholic & ______.
