Church description
West End UMC is an open, highly educated and well-established congregation that values diversity. The church is located in a urban setting across the street from Vanderbilt University. Church members are very generous towards missions and outreach through the budget process, individual designated gifts, and service opportunities. Worship services on Sunday are traditional. Special services include Candlelighting during Advent, Jazz Mass before Lent, and monthly Taize services.
The youth program at WE includes grades 7-12. Youth represent over 17 high schools and junior highs in the surrounding area. There are about 135 youth on the rolls of the church. During an average week, 60 youth attend WE youth events. Special events include mission trips, a Mystery Trip, and a famine event. There is currently a youth bell choir; and a new youth choir is starting September 2015.
