Youth Pastor, $15.00-20.00/hr.
Harbor Trinity is a small to medium sized church with a big heart for welcoming people into God’s family. Our mission is to raise up mature disciples who help people find and follow Jesus. We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant Word, our final authority for faith and practice. We are blessed to have dedicated members, a successful preschool, and no debt, which allows us to have a large staff for the size of our church. POSITION: Youth Pastor
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Senior Pastor
A. Deeply committed follower of Jesus.
B. Bachelor’s degree desired (or in process).
C. Man of integrity and spiritual maturity.
D. In accountability with another man of God.
E. Daily devotional life with the Lord.
F. Commitment to evangelism and helping youth grow in Christ.
G. In agreement with Harbor Trinity’s doctrinal statement.
H. Two years of youth ministry experience.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Sunday School and Wednesday Youth Group lessons.
B. Lead small group Bible studies.
C. Offer gospel invitations on a regular basis.
D. Preach to the congregation as needed.
2) Training Development
A. Recruit, train, and supervise adult volunteers in the youth program.
B. Hold regular volunteer youth staff meetings.
C. Attend training seminars, read books on ministry.
D. Train student leaders to serve in ministry.
A. Oversee student discipleship groups.
B. Recruit and train discipleship group leaders.
C. Counsel students and students w/parents as needed.
A. Organize and oversee weekly youth meetings.
B. Participate in Summer Camps at Hume Lake, a weekend campout, a winter
Retreat, and outreach events. C. Plan and participate in service and missions activities.
D. Plan and promote events to reach the unchurched and build fellowship.
E. Take the initiative and follow through on goals.
F. Be a self-starter and be willing to work independently.
A. Attend weekly staff meeting.
B. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
C. Meet with the Senior Pastor for accountability.
D. Maintain the Youth Rooms and equipment.
E. Work within yearly budget.
F. Monitor attendance of students in the program and update database.
G. Set and pursue yearly goals.
H. Visit parents and students in homes, at games, etc.
I. Develop an overall program that supports HTC’s vision statement. “Harbor Trinity is committed to raising up mature disciples who help people find and follow Jesus.”
6) Junior High Ministry
A. Supervise Junior High Intern and assist in hiring as needed.
B. Meet weekly with the Junior High Intern to mentor/train/supervise.
C. Visit junior high parents to explain program and address concerns.
D. Approve selection of volunteer staff.
E. Attend junior high events and activities as needed.
F. Approve and monitor yearly goals.
HOURS: Part-time, 20-30+ hours per week.
COMPENSATION: $15-20+ per hour based on experience/education.
BENEFITS: Medical, Sick leave, and paid vacation.
