Student Pastor Job Description
Title: Student Pastor
Reports to: Executive Pastor
Supported by: Volunteer Youth Leader team, Parent Assistants and Interns
Scope: Vision Cast, Communicate and Lead a team of volunteer leaders, students and parents to create a thriving student ministry that ministers to the needs of our church family and also reaches out to the needs of our community and world.
Personal Qualifications
Personally has a passionate, growing and authentic relationship with Christ
If married, has a marriage that is healthy, thriving and exemplifies to students what a Christ centered marriage looks like.
A person of character and integrity in all aspects of living.
Practices tithing (10%) of all income
Ministry Qualifications
Connects with students and has a strong desire and ability to develop relevant student ministry that will reach, develop and equip students to be disciples not only during their teen years but for the entirety of their lives.
Knowledgeable of the needs of students and you are committed to ongoing education of current trends and ministry practices
Understand the role of the church and family partnering together to disciple and develop students towards God’s plan for their lives.
Leadership Qualifications
Ability to vision cast and lead a team of volunteers, parents and students
The Big Picture is a concept you easily grasp, communicate and lead a team to accomplish
You possess the ability to problem solve and find solutions
You have the ability to successfully develop and implement ministry from start to finish Strong Interpersonal and communication skills

Oversee all aspects of student ministry
Create a relevant and engaging student service on Wednesday nights

Continue Strong Small Group Ministry
Develops a culture of serving within student ministry that incorporates our students into serving within all ministries of Southpointe as well as their community and world Oversee Sunday Morning small groups for student ministry
Build intentional relationships with students that point them to a relationships with God through Jesus Christ
Maintain safe environment for all student gatherings of Southpointe Church
Camps and Events
Plan and lead big events that are outreached focused, fun, safe, purposeful and attract students.
Plan and lead student missions opportunities
Plan and lead summer camp each year
Plan and lead fall or spring retreat
Volunteers and Parents
Build intentional relationships with parents that encourage the partnership of the church and the parents in discipling students, incorporating parent involvement within student ministry and building reciprocal relationships between fusion and the home to benefit both entities.
Recruit, train, lead, encourage and care for volunteer leaders.
Lead interns spiritually and provide growth opportunities for them within the ministry. Meet and counsel parents as needed.
Ministerial Issues
Perform weddings, funerals, baptisms, communion, etc. as needed
Participate in Staff Retreats, conferences, etc.
Participate in all church events as needed such as fall festival, easter egg hunt, pointe group launches, etc.
Oversee opening and lock up of building Sundays and Wednesdays

We are looking for a man or woman who is passionately pursuing Jesus Christ, who loves and develops students, parents and volunteers, who challenges students to go deeper in the faith, who worships with students, who reaches unbelievers in relevant ways, who enters into the culture of a student but doesn't live there, who can creatively work through problems, who teaches and mentors others, who empowers volunteer staff and interns, who leads and yet is a team player, who knows his gifts and limitations, who is gracious when interacting with others, and who relates well to Southpointe staff.
