Youth Pastor Candidate & Ministry Description

Overview
Cadillac Christian Reformed Church (CCRC) is seeking a full time Youth Pastor to care for and
oversee programming for middle and high school students and their families. We seek a person
who is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, who will help our youth become disciples of Jesus
Christ, and who is passionate about working with youth and shepherding them to give their
absolute best for God.
CCRC is a congregation of about 200 members with about 30+ youth involved in various areas
of ministry. The youth pastor is a full time staff position. The youth pastor will be a professing
member of our church.

The Candidate
Shepherd:​ A person who inspires, motivates, and disciples our youth to learn about God and
live their lives for Jesus Christ. Someone who demonstrates and models excellent
communication skills (written, oral, and visual) when representing and sharing youth activities
and who trains our youth in the same. One who reflects the love of Christ through warm,
compassionate, interpersonal skills that demonstrate strong expectations of excellence and
quality.
Engaging Christian Role Model:​ A person who worships exuberantly, is biblically literate, is
doctrinally conversant, and exercises stewardship; a joyful, mature Christian who loves children,
youth, and the church of Jesus Christ. A person who embraces diversity in people, celebrates
uniqueness in all, and demonstrates such in the youth program of our church.
Trailblazer:​ A person who takes traditional ‘youth group’ activities (retreats, service projects,
small groups, weekly meetings, etc.) and integrates them into a healthy youth program. A
person who challenges our congregation and youth to find ways to learn, love, and live our faith
while bringing people to Christ.
Architect:​ ​A person who continues to look at the big picture, developing a program that
incorporates both the youth of our church and community, and their families. Someone who
develops systems for connecting with youth, scheduling and implementing programs/activities,
and interfacing with CCRC ministry leaders whose activities overlap with the youth program.
One who sets forth methods and processes that sustain and improve the strength of the youth
ministry over time. Someone who will utilize the Thrive Design and Support Board to create and
execute a continued vision for youth ministry.
Positive Self-Manager:​ A person who is a self-starter, team developer, and a team player who
demonstrates high energy, a positive attitude, and a stable temperament. Someone who is
responsible and accountable for completing work with integrity, high quality, and timeliness.

The Position
1. Continuously develop, implement, lead, and improve the youth program at CCRC (Thrive
Youth Ministries)
2. Be willing to work in a variety of settings (establishing office hours each week at our church
as well as being at schools, restaurants, mission fields, family homes, etc.) and a variety of
times (nights and weekends). The position is based on a salaried 40 hours per week, but this is
flexible and may vary by season.
3. Be an integral member of the church ministry teams. Attend weekly staff meetings, provide
regular communication to church council and congregation, and attend various council and
ministry meetings as required.

Helpful Information
1. The minimum education required is a high school diploma and a bachelor’s degree.
2. Experience in youth ministry, related jobs with youth, educational background or training with
youth are pluses.
3. Work experience demonstrating reliability and initiative is required.
4. Salary commensurate with education and experience will be provided.
5. Medical benefits are provided.
6. Other compensation includes allowance for vehicle, cell phone, continuing education, and
professional expenses.
