Position Title: Full Time- Youth Leader
Candidates for this position must meet qualification as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9. This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor. The emphasis of this position will be to plan, coordinate, implement, and direct the Youth/Teen Program. Other responsibilities will include teaching, speaking, and other pastoral duties as defined and directed by the Sr. Pastor. All teaching and activities to be carried out with theological likemindedness and practice of Hope Bible Church.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for planning and directing the Youth Bible Study and related activities each week.
Plan and coordinate youth social activities: on an average of one special activity per month.
Plan and execute mission trips and/or youth retreats.
Work with and recruit volunteer leaders as needed.
Provide discipleship and biblical counsel for youth.
Work closely and provide feedback to the parents of the teens through regularly scheduled meetings.
Develop monthly reports of youth ministry for Board meetings.
Prepare messages for Sundays or other occasions as directed by the Sr. Pastor.
Attend Board Meetings and other Committee Meetings as directed.
Be accountable for any youth funds collected and/or distributed.
Maintain daily journal noting activities, contacts, etc.
Be vigilant for the safety and welfare of the youth/teens and report any concerns to the Sr. Pastor immediately.
Assist in visitation of new families especially those that have teens.
Participate in the general office responsibilities as directed.
Assume other responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Sr. Pastor.
Reports to the Sr. Pastor.
Coordinates Youth Activities with parents and other church departments and committees.
Coordinates with other churches of like faith as directed by the Sr. Pastor.
Bible College and or theological training required
Possess ability to teach at Jr. and Sr. High and potentially college level
Experience in working in a local church youth ministries preferred
Possess and demonstrate good oral and written communication.
Possess and demonstrate a teachable spirit.
Demonstrate the ability to be able to work well in a team concept
Possess and promote Christ centered life concepts
Be in agreement with the doctrinal statement of Hope Bible Church
