Director of Student Ministries
Creekwood United Methodist Church is currently seeking a full-time Director of Student Ministries to inspire and lead the students in our church and community to a deep connection with Christ, each other, and the community.

The Director of Student Ministries will be responsible for the overall health, vitality, and growth of the Student Ministry program, overseeing, managing and working alongside the Director of Middle School Ministries, Youth Praise Band Leader, and Summer Interns. A priority for the Director will be to build an active team of meaningful adult lay leaders to help organize and support the Ministry and establish healthy relationships with teenagers that showcase the love Jesus has for them. The Director will build a highly inspirational program centered around a Sunday morning experience, weekly bible studies and fellowship activities, special events, mission trips, worship camps, and more. They will actively build relationships with high school students within and outside the church, and empower/train students and adult lay leaders to do the same.
This position is highly relational, with a high priority of connecting with, inspiring, and empowering a team of students, parents and other adult leaders to work alongside the position. This position is also organizational in nature, tasked with assembling, managing and leading the team to support this Ministry.
The Director of Student Ministries at Creekwood must be highly energetic, self-starting, organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, driven community that is growing and aspires for excellence at every level. Relatability, creativity, and communication are other essential skills.
Applicants must be a committed Christian who feels called to ministry with youth and is excited to work in an open and accepting United Methodist Church environment with the following qualifications:
• Strong personal faith consistent with United Methodist theology. • Undergraduate degree preferred; post-grad education a plus. • 2+ years of experience in student ministry, working with adolescents, preferably senior high age students. • Technology savvy
• Able to clearly and creatively communicate
scripture and theology.
• Aware of issues that youth face and have a passion to shepherd them. • Proven track record of developing quality relationships and establishing appropriate boundaries with youth. • Able to meet students and families in crisis situations and walk alongside them. • A clear ability to recognize and develop talent in others. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude. • High degree of initiative and accountability. • Manage and motivate both student and adult volunteers. • Work collaboratively as a team with youth, parents, and other staff members. • Willing to enhance professional and spiritual growth through continuing education.
Job Hours and Compensation
Compensation will be based on education and experience. Due to the nature of youth ministry, early mornings, late nights, weekends, and week-long out-of-town events are regular, thus hours are flexible as needed. Office hours will be determined around meeting other priorities of relationship-building.
