Liberty Presbyterian Church

To help people connect or reconnect with our Lord and build a lifetime of discipleship.

Church description

Liberty's vision emphasizes four main areas:

  1. To provide a welcoming place "to help people connect or reconnect with our Lord." Liberty’s worship service is our heart and soul. We embrace an informal, less traditional worship style -- welcoming humor, applause and laughter (as well as more reflective moments) -- supported by joyous music and a message which is Biblical and relevant.

  2. To foster spiritual growth. Liberty seeks to enable members "to build a lifetime of discipleship" through Bible studies, small groups, life-issues seminars, new member classes and retreats.

  3. To engage members in mission. We have an active mission program, supporting local, national and international missions including Youth Summer Mission Trip, Common Ground Free Store, Habitat for Humanity Walls Build, Street Church for the homeless of downtown Columbus, Youth for Christ, our Mission Garden and annual mission trips to our sister church in Honduras. By Session policy, we allocate 10% of all offerings "off the top" to missions.

  4. To provide a nurturing and supportive environment to youth of all ages. Youth ministry is a priority at Liberty. We seek to meet the youth wherever they may be on their walk with the Lord, welcoming all, from those that seek further biblical knowledge to those just looking for friendships and fun in the presence of the Lord. Liberty’s mission is to help its members grow in faith, to care for their needs, to teach them the Good News, and to equip them to serve God as each is called.

Liberty is located in the northern suburbs of Columbus in one of the fastest growing counties (Delaware County) and school districts in the nation. Over the next 10 years, Olentangy Local School District will see an increase in students from 17,000 to 21,000, with more schools planned. This geographically large district includes affluent and poor, suburban and rural areas. Liberty’s Sunday attendance is growing, and in 2014 we moved from one 10:00 Sunday morning worship service to two (9:00 & 11:00). This growth is both exciting and challenging. We hope our new associate pastor will help us discover new and vital ways for our growing youth community to shine the light of Christ into our corner of the world.
