Job Description

MAIN STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Hattiesburg, Mississippi (mstreetumc.org), is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministries, to work with middle and high school youth and their families. MSUMC is located in a thriving, growing small city that is home to two Universities, serves as the medical-hub of the region and has repeatedly been honored with titles such as ‘Most Livable City’. The greater Hattiesburg area is home to over 150,000 people. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the existing Ministry Team, College-age intern(s) in strategic planning, coordinating weekly programming, developing curriculum, and organizing events. Components of the youth ministry include worship, outreach, service, discipleship, equipping staff and volunteers, building relationships, and integrating youth into the life of the entire congregation.

Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with staff and volunteers of various ages, abilities and backgrounds. The DYM should have organizational and administrative expertise and a strong sense of responsibility.
