Job at St. Paul's Episcopal Church

Part-time Youth Minister

Job Description

Youth Minister
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh

The Youth Minister will join the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministry in facilitating all youth programs for the parish. The Youth Minister will be responsible for High School Youth Group on Wednesday Nights, and the Middle School/Confirmation Programs on Sunday evenings. Additionally, the Youth minister will provide support to Children and Youth ministries on Sunday mornings. This position includes planning and implementing at least four overnight youth retreats a year, along with a week long summer mission trip.

We are looking for a collaborative, relational, and caring youth minister who can build strong relationships with youth and their families, as well as provide structure and support for a large and thriving program for children, youth, and families. The ideal candidate has experience with youth and working in a Christian context, and is able to uphold the social and theological values of St. Paul’s and the Episcopal Church.

This half-time position is supervised by the Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. The Children and Youth Programs at St. Paul’s are supported and guided by the Children and Youth Commission, a group of congregants who support these ministry areas.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant congregation in the Diocese of Pittsburgh experiencing significant expansion. Situated in the suburban area of Pittsburgh’s South Hills, St. Paul’s has over 1350 members, including 150+ children enrolled in Children and Youth programs and is also affiliated with the active St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School.

We worship on Saturdays at 6PM and Sundays at 8AM, 8:45AM & 10:45AM. Each service provides a unique liturgical style and music. During the program year, there is an education hour at 9:45AM. Throughout the summer, and several times throughout the year, the 8:45AM and 10:45AM services are combined to one service at 9:45AM.
