Youth Pastor & Music Coordinator
The position of Youth Pastor and Music Coordinator at Faith Baptist Church requires the employee to perform the following ministerial functions, which are an integral part of his or her employment. These ministerial functions include, but are not limited to, leading and/or participating in staff devotions and/or prayer, sharing the Gospel with visitors or others when called upon to do so during the workday, and the written or verbal communication of biblical teachings. The employee will also be required to live on- and off-duty in accordance with Faith Baptist Church’s Covenant and Constitution.
Summary: Direct the youth ministries and coordinate the music ministries of Faith Baptist Church.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and execute a long-term vision for impacting the youth of Faith Baptist Church.
Lead and organize weekly youth group programming (such as Sunday School, Wednesday Evening Youth Group, etc.).
a. Prepare and present lessons or make arrangements for other teachers.
b. Setup church facilities for weekly meetings and cleanup after meetings.
c. Develop, organize, and oversee teams of volunteers to facilitate weekly meetings utilizing them in the areas of welcoming, games, music, hospitality, and small group leaders.
Plan and oversee monthly youth activities to promote worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and outreach.
Plan and oversee summer opportunities for worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and outreach such as mission trips, teen conferences, and camps.
Provide and facilitate counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis.
Keep parents/guardians updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.
Seek to integrate youth ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries.
Communicate with Church Office to schedule events and promote youth ministry opportunities for students and volunteers.
Follow all Risk Management Committee procedures to create a safe environment for our students and volunteers and their families.
Coordinate the Music Ministries.
a. Assist/oversee planning of worship services.
b. Work with Assistant Music Coordinator, Choir Director, and Orchestra Director.
c. Occasionally lead congregational singing.
d. Assist/oversee planning of special music events (such as a Christmas Concert, Easter Celebration, etc.).
Maintain expenditures in accordance with approved youth and music budget lines. Manage student fees for events and trips in a timely fashion.
Participate faithfully in staff meetings and as needed or requested in the evaluation and development of the overall church ministry.
Preach and teach on occasion.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Exhibits a love for youth ministry and young people and has a passion for evangelism and outreach.
Teaching and Leadership Ability:
Possesses strong teaching skills with the ability to apply biblical truths to a youth context. Ability to lead an adult team of volunteers and develop student leaders.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Master’s preferred), experience in youth ministry and basic administrative skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

We are a conservative church with a traditional worship style in search of a youth pastor and music coordinator to lead our youth ministry and coordinate our music ministry.
