Job Description

Ministry Title: Interim Youth Ministry Coordinator
Employment Status: Part-Time Hourly (10-15 hours per week)
Pay Status: Hourly
Reports to: Pastor

Principle Function: The Youth Ministry Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the disciple-making ministry to students (grades 7-12) at New Hope Baptist Church, with a primary focus on Sundays, Wednesdays, and special ministry events (on and off campus, day or overnight events).

Overview: The Interim Youth Ministry Coordinator at New Hope Baptist Church should have a personal and growing relationship with Christ. This individual must have a sense of calling to serve the Lord by discipling and shepherding students. The Youth Ministry Coordinator is to be a person of Christ-like character and witness.

Qualifications: The Interim Youth Ministry Coordinator at New Hope Baptist Church will:
1. Be a maturing Christian.
2. Fully embrace New Hope’s Mission expressed through fulfilling the Five Functions of the Church: Discipleship, Worship, Ministry, Evangelism, and Fellowship.
3. Utilize their Spiritual Gifts to serve students.
4. Continue developing in student ministry understanding and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and overall direction to the Student Ministry 7th-12th grades.

1. Organize and implement the youth ministry calendar with biblical purpose and excellence while involving youth, volunteers, and parents in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship.

2. Implement and manage a comprehensive youth ministry using the biblical Lead-Teams strategy.

3. Work with the staff, committee members, parents, and volunteers to recruit and place into service key leadership for ministry maturity and growth.

4. Work closely with the youth leadership team, and youth-age council for maximum input, leadership development, and involvement.

5. Make recommendations to the pastor, parents, and staff in all matters related to achieving youth ministry excellence.

6. Coordinate, collaborate, and cooperate with church-wide emphasis, calendaring, and ministry strategies.

7. Support and engage parents of youth as partners in the spiritual growth of their youth-age children. (social media, print, messaging, etc.)

8. Initiate preparing and producing an annual ministry budget as requested.

9. Participate in weekly staff meetings, and occasionally with other ministry teams when requested by the pastor.

10. Be supportive of and accountable to the pastor in all New Hope Baptist Church ministry matters.

New Hope Baptist Church

We are a Southern Baptist Church located in Pell City, Alabama. We are currently in a transition period and are hoping to call a new senior pastor by the end of the year. We are celebrating our bicentennial this year, so we have a lot of events celebrating that.
