Church description
Christ Church Cathedral has been located downtown Houston since 1839. Christ Church Cathedral, under the guidance and leadership of Dean Barkley Thompson has a great vision for reaching the downtown and surrounding areas for Christ. 2015 promises to be a very exciting year as we begin working toward developing more diversified outreach programs both in the downtown area as well as in the neighborhoods in which our members reside.
As part of our current ministry to the downtown area we support the Cathedral Health & Outreach Ministries otherwise known as "The Beacon" which is a program created to assist with the needs of Houston's homeless population.
The Cathedral also has a growing Hispanic community which meets for worship at 1:00 each Sunday. Our congregation is both unique and diverse in its members and everyone is welcome.
We have five services each Sunday. 8:00AM, 9:00AM, 11:00AM, 1:00PM, and 5:00PM. We also have Morning Prayer at 7:30 as well as Holy Eucharist at 12:05 Monday - Friday. And a mid-week service on Wednesday's at 6:00 PM.
