Additional information

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Mario Kee and I would like to apply for the position of Youth Director at your church. It is my hope and prayer that this cover letter will provide some background into why I work in youth ministry and why I would be a great addition to your church. I have been involved in some capacity of youth ministry for 9 years now. Through that time I have served in various youth ministry internships, started a youth ministry from scratch, served as director of youth ministries at 3 separate churches, and have even had the opportunity to work as a barista and pursue an opportunity playing music in a rock band for a time. Through all of these experiences I have continued to grow in my relationship with Jesus through the transitions, through the ups and downs, and my relationship with Him becomes stronger each day. My journey in youth ministry has had many joys and quite a few sorrows as well. I started youth ministry while in college pursuing a degree in music education and music performance. At one point I was starting a youth group at a church I was attending, all while going to school, bartending, working as a resident assistant for one of the biggest dorms at my school, and actively participating in two fraternities. I struggled with my call and I went to graduate school to continue my studies in music, only to leave a year later to pursue youth ministry full time. I have had to deal with health issues as my diabetes took a toll on my body and I eventually went into kidney failure in December of 2016, just one month into my position as Director of Youth and Young Adults at my last church. I eventually had to step down to focus on my health and I am glad to say that I have a great handle on it all after taking time to rest. I say all of this to show that I am resilient and I am passionate about who I am and what I do. If you were to hire me you would see that I have a heart for ministry, particularly for youth and their families. You would see that I know that I am loved and I am called and it is nothing I take for granted. I sincerely hope that my resume and cover letter provides a glimpse into just the kind of person I am and that through these things you will see my passion for what I do. Youth ministry is my life’s work and I look forward to continuing that journey where God calls me.
