The position’s key role and purpose is to be a creative and collaborative leader who facilitates growth in discipleship for FVUMC’s children (birth through 5th grade).

Job Description

In the great venn diagram of churches, FVUMC sits in a unique position -- it is a thriving church family that has been leading and serving its community for well over 100 years and at the same time is much like a mature church-plant having made a significant transformation and relocation in the early 2000s. This is a church with a great deal of history, and also a great deal of potential energy ready to be deployed to serve a fast-growing and diverse town. Two new families a day are moving into our neighborhood, and just to our south, we are expecting 15,000 new neighbors in the next decade. Our community needs our church to thrive, to develop leaders, and to send people out into all the places we live, work, and play to care and serve. And, our church needs you to come help be a part of this awesome work.

The great news is that you will not be starting from scratch or going it alone! We have a vibrant children’s ministry and preschool that are shepherding young disciples and training up the next generation of worshippers and worship leaders. We have incredible volunteers and parents that are committed and passionate about children’s ministry even in a post-covid world. This ministry hands the baton to a fantastic youth ministry built on a small group model. We would love for you to come and join us, help us develop into better shepherds and equip our team to go tackle the next 100 years partnering with families from the heart of Fuquay-Varina.

The two fastest growing demographics in our community are young parents with young kids -- and their parents who are moving here to be near grandkids. There is an incredible opportunity for you to help us welcome them, care for and connect their families, and come alongside them through the ups and downs of parenting.
