Job Description

Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, seeks a full-time Director of Children and Family Ministries. Our ideal candidate will be a creative and collaborative leader who has a passion for discipleship among children (birth through 5th grade). HBUMC has an established Children’s Ministry program in a large and growing downtown Raleigh congregation. This position will build on that existing program and will expand the program to encompass holistic spiritual care of our families within the church and in the community. As our Director of Children and Family Ministries, you will be part of a team with support personnel and volunteers from our community. Your schedule will be a flexible 40 hours per week, and you will be required to work on Sundays and Christian holy days. At HBUMC, you will be valued as a beloved child of God, for your commitment to your own faith development, for your love and care of our children and families, and for your gift of outreach to our Raleigh neighborhood.

A successful candidate will possess a strong faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to share that faith with children. A college degree and paid experience working with elementary-aged children is required. A background in The United Methodist Church (www.umc.org) is strongly preferred. Technological savvy with social media and electronic communications and strong communications skills are required.
