Job Description

Trinity UMC, Spartanburg is searching for the next full time Director of Youth Ministries. This vibrant and engaging individual will oversee and grow the Youth Ministries, from sixth through twelfth grade, in order to provide the best possible environment for our youth to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. They will plan, direct, and implement programs for the Youth Ministry which incorporate faith formation, fellowship, worship, mission/service, and how to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
We are looking for a person who loves God and loves youth. They need to have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree and have a solid knowledge of the United Methodist structure, program and curriculum. They must have the ability to deliver Christ-centered messages to youth through spiritual maturity and confidence in faith. They must be able to relate well and work effectively with youth and adults and to effectively support youth in need and maintain confidences.
The suitable candidate will have leadership abilities including good written and oral communication skills, as well as sound planning, organizational and budgeting skills. The Youth Director must maintain Trinity’s Safe Sanctuary Policy and will report to the Sr. Pastor.
