Job Description

Church of the Good Shepherd Evangelical Covenant seeks a part-time Intergenerational Ministry Director. This is a unique employment opportunity to learn and grow by working in a healthy church in Joliet, IL with experienced staff and leaders in an economically and culturally diverse community. This position’s compensation includes a salary and housing in our parsonage. Your role would be to assist with discipling, nurturing, and promoting Christian growth in youth, making connections with their families, and working closely with the pastors, Christian Education Committee, and volunteers.

Job Responsibilities :
● Assist in building the vision for youth ministry in this new era ● Help plan and lead elementary and high school youth activities ● Build relationships with students and families ● Empower children to be a part of the regular worship service by sharing testimonies, scripture, music, etc. ● Meet weekly with staff and monthly with the Christian Education Committee ● Organize, promote, and lead a group to Covenant Harbor’s Youth Winter Camp each February ● Participate as part of a team for leading a youth Sunday School Class ● Grow intergenerational communication channels ● Approx. 20 hours/week (critical times Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings)
