Job Description

We are looking for a Christ-centered and authentic Lead Pastor of Student Life with a heartfelt desire to reach the hearts of students grades 5-12 through the ministry of the local church. This person will be responsible for supporting Wheaton Bible Church’s purpose, values, and mission of seeing people Love God, Love One Another, Love our Neighbors, and Love the Nations through all aspects of student ministry. This includes strategic vision, development and execution of an annual ministry plan, life groups, student ministry events, leadership development, and teaching. This person will supervise all Student Life staff.

The Lead Pastor of Student Life will be a fully devoted follower of Christ, seeking God’s presence and leadership in every dimension of their life. They will be spiritually mature, committed to holiness and developing their personal walk with the Lord. This person is committed to a life of discipleship - actively discipling others and being discipled. Wheaton Bible Church is a multi-ethnic and multi-generational church so it’s important that this person have a biblical understanding of and love for these things and an ability to navigate and contextualize them in a ministry setting. This pastor/shepherd will have a love for students and a heart and ability to lead and develop students, volunteers, and staff. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Bible/Theology/Student Ministry or equivalency, an MDiv is a plus; 5-10 years of experience in FT Student Ministry in a large church; and will have completed an approved Ordination Certificate (or is willing to go through the ordination process). This leader will possess the spiritual gifts of leadership, teaching, and shepherding, and will have engaging speaking skills, the ability to clearly communicate the Gospel, and a vision for the multiplication of disciples. This humble leader will be willing to be led as much as willing to lead, will have a strong theological alignment with Wheaton Bible Church, and will become an active member and participant in the life of WBC.
