Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Relational Leadership
Commit to the Trinity Statement of Faith and the Trinity Staff Covenant.
Provide vision, oversight, and training for Trinity Kids staff team, interns, and volunteers.
Oversee Trinity Kids assistant directors to ensure alignment with vision and appropriate delegation of responsibilities.
Oversee nursery coordinator to ensure adequate staffing and promote parents’ confidence in the safety and well-being of their kids
Create a culture where volunteers love to serve through actively assessing needs, recruiting, orientation, placement, onboarding, and training.
Act as the point person and a partner for communication with parents, encouraging families to be involved in the spiritual formation of their kids’ lives.
Provide pastoral care to kids and families in times of transition and crisis.

Program Development
Develop an engaging Sunday School program
Ensure curriculum is age-appropriate, seasonally relevant, and consistent with Wesleyan theology
Recruit, equip, and schedule teachers for preschool-5th grade classes
Deliver teaching material and supplies on a teacher-friendly schedule
Oversee the planning and implementation of church-wide and community events for kids, including but not limited to: Vacation Bible School, Venture (older elementary summer program), Sunday afternoon programs, Faith Milestones, Wonderfully Made, etc.
Perform ongoing assessment of programs, procedures, and systems to determine effectiveness and vision alignment.
Work with worship-planning teams to involve children in worship; provide for children’s moment messages in each worship service.
Collaborate with Confirmation director, pastors, and student ministry staff on Confirmation program. Help students and families transition from Trinity Kids Ministry to Element Student Ministry.

Administration
Establish and execute a consistent communication plan with parents, utilizing social media, email, and print forms. Work with the Communications Director to ensure the church is informed of family ministry events.
Maintain an updated Safe Sanctuaries policy, obtain volunteer background checks, and enforce procedures appropriately.
Participate in regular meetings: Worship planning, Contact worship, ministry directors, Trinity staff, Administrative Board.
Develop and oversee the annual children’s ministry budget in a way that effectively utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunities.
Work with facilities director and trustees to maintain a welcoming, safe environment for children’s ministry.

We have recently built a new children's ministry space, and are searching for our next full-time director of children's ministry to lead a dynamic staff and dedicated volunteers to minister with our youngest disciples and their families.
