Experience
We didn't have to go to church as children save for the "high holidays" of Easter and Christmas. Even then it was optional if my dad didn't go. I ended up getting serious about discovering God when I was a senior in high school and somehow ended up at a church of Christ bible study. That night I was baptized into water and went to school the next day telling all my friends they were going to Hell. I became a Youth Minster / Gospel Preacher in the churches of Christ for the better part of the next 11 years until I received my MA in Theological Studies and realized I no longer fit into that package.
I left church for seven years and despised Christianity until I experienced and encountered the Holy Spirit for myself. At that time, I was reminded of a vision of Jesus I had had who woke me in the middle of the night to let me know He was there to protect me. Protect me, He had. I should have been dead, but Jesus spared me again and again.
I recommitted my life to Jesus and ended up at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministries in Redding, CA. That was a life-changing, identity-experiencing time where I also met my wife, a beautiful lady from Taiwan. We moved back there to marry in May 2011 and have been following the Lord together ever since.

Additional information
I'm mostly relational, attempting to impact and influence though getting to know someone. I find that best done simply by asking the right questions and offering just the right amount of self-disclosure. Teens, in particular, are always ready to talk to someone ready to listen. Hearing their heart gives me an opportunity to share God's heart for them.
I've lived in South Korea and Taiwan and speak a little of both Korean and Chinese. My wife and children are fluently bi-lingual (English and Chinese). I have also been blessed to travel to various other countries including Israel and the locations of the Seven Churches of Asia. I've done short term mission work in Turkey as well as Jamaica, but would love to do more.
